The Chinese New Year period of 15 days will end today..or is it tomorrow? I forget. But it'll end either today or tomorrow. So let's just talk about what I know about it.It's the 15 day of chinese new year. Okay that's about all I know. Do you throw oranges? Yes I think you do. Not at someone but into the sea and think of someone you'll marry. Which doesn't make much sense. Better luck throwing that orange at someone.

I'm going to have to review Ben's again. Second visit in less than 4 days. This time with the parents. Now you may remember them as being very traditional taste-bud-wise with a very critical review of most food places we've been to so far. Their criticism sadly comes a few hours after we've eaten with a detailed summary of why the food wasn't up to par.

Haven't bought any books for 2012 for the simple reason; I have one whole shelf full of unread books bought over 2011. Terrible!! My second Georgette Heyer book for this year. Bought at a sale for a mere...RM 19.90. Extremely good quality. Even smelt new when I bought it. Fancy that. Am reading it slowly because you can't rush Heyer's books. It's written ( and I'm told with quite a bit of background research) in regency lingo. Making you stop and think what the sentence means. Anyone know that "abigail" can also mean "maid???? Hah...I need an Abigail for my ironing this morning. Any takers?

It's the 3rd day of Chinese New Year!! I've been ill for 2 out of the 5 days I've been back home. Worst luck! Been hit by one of those cholera-like bug nesting in the nasty sushi-bits at the lunch buffet on Thursday. This has put a damper on my Sushi-mini-obsession for a bit. It'll be quite a while before I can brave nibble any sushi without first thinking of those hourly toilet-visits, cramp-like abdominal twists preceeding each visit and the hit of nausea in a background of lethargy.

It's brilliant to be home. I've been re-reading my Agatha Christie books. Spurred on by my listening to the Agatha Christie whoddunit audiobooks I got from the brother for christmas. So here's the list of books I'm raced through in my limited time at home.
1. The Murder of Roger Ackroyd ( I cheated and read the first chapter...and the last interesting bits where he sums things up. Poirot I mean)
2.Cat Among Pigeons. ( Read most of it....lovely book. Clearly the top three Christie books)
3.A Pocket Full of Rye.
4.Why Didn't They Ask Evans.( only read the last bit..I prefer the movie version)
5.Murder in Mesopotamia( Yes...nice book. I read every word of it until late in the night)
6.Dead Man's Folly ( Again...I prefer the movie version I watched some years back..)
7.By the Pricking of My Thumbs. Which is my current reading material this morning. Am at page 92.

What's particularly lovely about the last book is I've clearly forgotten the story line completely for now. And am reading this book..for the FIRST time. You see, sometimes it's nice to have a rotten memory.

Korean drama....the obsession is ressurected!

Okay I've caved into temptation and bought myself a "new" series to watch. I'm sure you die-hard korean drama fans reading this would pooh pooh this as new. It's new for me having taken a sabbatical from Korean dramas in 2011. And so here I am being lured back into this and enjoying the moment very much. A great way to end the day. Excuse me...I'm going to sit on my chair with me legs on the ottoman and enjoy some drama now.

WNN cooked on Sunday. And as a direct result of it, I started Monday morning at work with home-cooked nasi lemak. She brought a boiled egg and cucumbers as well. Fancy that! AJ and I tucked into the mini-feast. The smell of santan extended beyond the pantry and attracted some of the office staff. We didn't share:) Next on the cooking agenda.....hmm I wonder what!

I was served by three very different people at the i-store this evening. The first boy was keen. When I asked him a question, he said he would check and then promptly disappeared to SERVE another person at the counter. After which time we were left staring at the macbooks and waiting to be served. There were two other folks in the store. The second was a young boy who was polite but obviously very new. The last was an upstart who thought he was better than the other two, when in actual fact he ended up rubbing me the wrong way. He explained some basic things in a condescending manner. The whole experience was a bit unpleasant so I left without buying my macbookair. It's been a while since I was last treated like I wasn't good enough to be in such a shop. *uurgh*

Now if you happen to have a slight confusion with numbers and if you also happen to have this defect from the earliest age possible, you 'ld be able to sympathise with me right this moment. My evenings in the last week has been spent staring at articles describing numbers and why they mean what they do in that analysis and why we should do this and not that. And how to adjust for this and not that and maybe this may work. Confusing? You bet!! Humbling to find oneself struggling with something basic.

Haircut AGAIN

I know I raved about my last haircut quite a bit. I was wrong. It lasted 2.3 days. After that, I had this perpetual " I just woke up from sleep" look which was a bit annoying. I'm sure most folks felt I should just get a brush and brush the hair. But I had another haircut...just 3 weeks from the last. The new guy has done an OKAY job. I'm happy...but it's only day 3...so I'm going to wait a while before I sing him praises.

And so now...I am playing three games concurrently which means having to wake up 30 minutes earlier to collect points before brushing teeth or run the risk of being late for work.(ouch). The reviews of Snoopy's street fair have been varying but let me tell you why it's appealing. The graphics are clear (not fuzzy) and nice...true to the original peanuts illustration. You get to collect points/XP quite frequently depending on what you've purchased. And if you're able to sit beside your ipad and click continuosly ( Ahem) for hours....you are then rewarded by gaining enough XP to move up a level. Compare this to smurf village hich demands a higher level of patience.

That snoopy! He's just so cute. If you tap on his house, you'll then see him buzzing from whichever part of the screen he happens to be in....right to the house and sleeping in the roof just like in the cartoons. Snoopy jumps and dances when he collects certain gifts too. Now that's so cute you wish he would do it more often. I'm still trying to figure how to add some friends onto this game. In the meantime if you haven't tried this free downloadable game, give it a shot....

I used to write nicely. Really! Today when I got someone to read my book, the sentences were read out in a disjointed manner. And when I read it myself, I saw just how difficult it can be to read words which aren't spelt in full and with little squiggles suggestive of a something! So tomorrow I'm going to form my letters nice!

I love the fact it the mornings are still nice and dark. It lulls me into this sense that I'm leaving for work earlier than what it really is. It's now 6:55am and still pitch dark outside. ( Not that I'm anyway close to being ready to leave the house now)

I'm planning to get rid of some of my storybooks. You know, the disaster buys over the last few years. The books that I never got pass the first few chapters and yet have doggedly hung onto to in the feeble hope of completing them some day. Out they go. And no new books yet. I will attempt to be more selective .

Currently reading " A very funny thing happened" by Anthony Buckeridge. Bought at the second hand bookstore in Dec 2011. ( Before the resolution to buy less books.)A review of which will follow some time soon.

My dear blog followers ( I'm not sure how many there are..)

Thank you for following this blog. I 'm sorry for the long silence. The blasted flu finally got me in the last 2 weeks of the year rendering me lethargic, irritable ( yes really) and basically zonked out completely. It ( the flu) cheated me out of 50% of my Christmas break. I'm back to work....just as I'm well enough to enjoy life. *bleah*

I love lists...so here's a kind of everything list summing up what's happen since the last entry

1. I shared the Christmas opening present session with an annoying bird ( the 5 year old niece named it tweety). Birds have not much of an intestine..so they pooh all over any time. That was the MAIN reason why I hated it so much. It's pictured above. The annoying creature. I had to clean up after it.

2.

We played make-believe cooking with the visiting 5-year-old niece. ( This was intermittenly between episodes of fever for both self and niece) She cooked make-believe claypot chicken-rice which was yummie.

3. We got an inflatable pool(again). But this time...we had a battery operated pump to do the work.
4. The weather was brilliantly cool. We slept with windows wide open...no fan nor air condition needed.
5. I watched Ugly Betty season one episode one.
6. I 've decidede to retire at age 60. (booHOO)

It's Sunday night...and the usual mad rush to finish up stuff in preparation for Monday is in full swing. This includes the usual dipping of mood when faced with the dreaded Monday Clinic!!! I bought some stuff...and had to use the credit card. The pleasant young man who served me told me I was to collect my token one floor above. And there I went.

Sometimes we make bad choices. This morning after mass, I chose to have breakfast here.It was daylight robbery, RM12:99 for two small pieces of toast, eggs with salmon ( no sign of salmon but you can just about make out the taste if you chew slowly) and tepid water-ed down coffee which tasted so yucky I left half of it behind. Things to eat whilst at Austen Chase would include some of the cakes...but I'ld stay away from the breakfast deals. It's just not worth the trouble.

Am home sipping homemade nescafe Gold with milk.

A review of Min International Salon!

Min international is near celli Cakes....Finnegans, Burger King and RHB bank. There! I've named all the main places of interest near by in that one sentence. After intense internet researching over two Saturdays ( I kid you not)....I decided that Min Internationl would be just the place for my next hair cut. When I entered the shop the smell of ammonia hits you gently....and it slowly envelopes you. I had a slight wheeze in the first 5 minutes of adjustment. After which time, I felt well enough to look around. I called for an appointment. Lucky that I did. The place was full. Most girls were having their hair coloured/permed. So its true what the net says, Korean hair Salons do different perms. I was served within 10 minutes. The lady who washed my hair was pleasant and chatty. The stylist who did my hair make a face when I indicated I wanted it shorter but smiled when I said not too short. ( I suspect he didn't want to make my face look any rounder than it was entering the shop..clever man). He appeared to know what I wanted. But I was nervous just the same. As I sat there waiting to have my hair trimmed, I had this strong urge to walk away and live with the mop.

I'm very glad I stayed. the hair cut was done very nicely. And he layered and layered and layered it. Apparently I have a lot of hair. I think my round head makes a bob hair-do the most appropriate style for now. Until I lose the double chin and then maybe we'll think about getting a slightly different look.

Love the hair today:) I'll recommend Min International for a good hair cut. RM60!

We had bread for dinner today. With a dollop ( a very small one) of potato renamed potato salad by the owner of the shop. Some nerve! It was tasty so I'm giving it a 7/10. The sweet mustard dressing dripped like a small leaky cauldron.

I have friends who cook:) YOu may appreciate how this is a lovely thing if you realise that I do not cook. I did cook once in the dark ages. Thankfully the ghastly memories have morphed into something nicer. So now, when I recall cooking, I choose only to remember the successful concoctions I did. AJ cooked olio and we had a sample of it. WNN baked banana bread and I had it two consecutive mornings for breakfast. You may wonder where the picture of the banana bread is....I forgot to take a picture. When I did remember, there was only 1.34 parts of the bread left.

My dinner was an interrupted one due to a certain kitty who insisted on rubbing his/her body against my calves. It didn't help that the tail whisk intermittent on my calves too. Most unpleasant experience. I will say this; cats are great hypocrites. I glared at the kitty and told it in no uncertain terms to BUZZ off. The annoying kitty purred even more and sat beside my calves making sure the darn tail came in in contact every few seconds.

I'm more of a dog person. Gimme a puppy anyday. ( Could I ask for a puppy just like the one in the Andrex advert please? thanks)

It rained at 3pm. The Boom Boom sound of thunder was a bit scary.( And I was indoors at the time). When I eventually decided to leave for home ( about 1 hour after big downpour) so did everyone else. Which mean I took 1.55 hours to get home. What a waste of time honestly!

I left my phone ( accidentally) at home today. Frantically called a few folks to inform this. *beam* And I only had 3 missed calls and 3 text messages to deal with when I got home.

Here's an odd thing, 1.55 hours of jam...and I weirdly feel energetic. So I've hoovered and am doing some of the laundry today. Sometimes...you cannot explain some things:)

There is seriously no more space on the shelf. The books are are piled in three no make that 4 piles in my study. It looks like a mini storeroom. And I have only myself to blame for this. Hoarder...that's what I yam.

Ma'Cik Biryani ( review yes more food)

We had dinner here last night. A deviation from the normal. And certainly a deviation from what I wanted which was scallops from Vivo. The parents caved in to my suggestion. Psychologically a trump card for them. I then proceeded to feel bad. And we decided to not eat at the place of my choice after all. So allow me to write a brief review of the experience. We'll start with the decor. I'm giving it a 8/10 for cleanliness and I like the set-up. It was near the toilet. Which turned out to be handy.

The mother had fried kuey teow. And here it is in the picture above. The kuew teow was smooth and texture was lovely. Really!. It tasted clean and maybe just slightly less salty than what we are normally used to. But no complains. I'm giving this 7/10. I've docked off marks for the lack of chilli-padi. We got it after asking.

I had the sup tulang and white rice. The portion of the white rice was baby-size. Just as well I was under the weather and the appetitie wasn't the best. Tasted nice. But perhaps I would have liked it thicker. The meat bits were nice. It literally fell off the bone. So I'm giving it 7.8/10.

My father had the briyani. Yes if you come to a shop called Ma'Cik Biryani and you do not it any biryani it'll be plain ole silly. Nice and hot. And yes certainly something we may consider having again maybe early next year. Overall experience was nice. The waiters were friendly and service was pretty quick.

I'm having scallops sometime this week tho....still feel cheated out of them;)

We had dinner at grandmama's at Pavillion. The food featured were similar to Madame Kwan and the concept looks similar. But I think Madame Kwan's food is tastier. Much! We saw beside a push pram. No baby inside. the baby was lolling about on someone's lap. But never fear, the push pram was put to good use as a work horse. Here it is saddled with many many bags of various shapes and sizes. Can you spot the longchamp in bilberry?

I would like to know those of us out there who've tasted this and can vouch that it's nice. Saw this at Coffee Bean. Now isn't this an interesting gift set? I had hot chocolate peppermint. ( Maybe it's actually peppermint hot chocolate). Too sweet!! They could lay off the sugar a bit then maybe it'll be just nice.

Empty space....a nice feeling

Solaris Dutamas is finally coming alive. Despite vowing never to return ( after the car-towing incident by over-zealous DBKL folks...may their toes rot) I spent Sunday noon browsing the shops and enjoying the feeling of discovering new places.

I wonder what it tastes like

The Big Independent Grocers was a treasure trove of interesting stuff to browse. I must have exerted self...because when I finally got home..I slept like a baby

FOUND it....vanilla pods!

WNN promised me some profiteroles .... my job was to find real vanilla pods. I nearly had a black-out when I found them and saw the price. A whopping RM44 something for a test tube of pods. That vanilla taste better be out of this world, or I want my money back. An interesting place what I like best about it was the great open space with few people. Hate josling elbows with folks and walking into push prams.
And so here are some of the shops I spied in my short visit there.
1. MPH bookstore with a good selection of books for children. They had seats which was nice.
2. I store whoppee...I can pop over any time and get my ipod nano.
3. San francisco Coffee. Seriously BETTER coffee than either coffee bean or starbucks
4. Bens ( yuck I don't like their service)
5. Hallmark/tiny thots/some eyebrow threading place/ at least 3 hair saloons
6. British India homes
7. Just B
8. Caring pharmacy
9. Just Juice/I love U, Sushi trolley place I forget the name now.....and others.

I enjoyed the first few chapters of this book very much. So much that I brought it along for dinner on Sunday with the parents. Today however, the dark side of the book has revealed itself. I'm not too keen on reading dark evil stories of mental torture so I must confess to skimming through those bits. Which leaves me feeling rather cheated out of the experience. Erica James writes very well. Too well that those dark episodes which have dragged on for a few chapters has taken its toll on me. Am feeling rather gloomy. I shouldn't really. It's Monday evening, it's nearly 8pm and I'm in my jimjams reading stuff before I unwind for an early night.

Avocado salad with sesame dressing.

I'm back on the food topic once again there's no stopping me you see. The salad was very nice. It sounds inadequate when I describe it like that. Let me try again. The sesame dressing is a must. And when it's drizzled ( generously) over your crispy vegetable leaves the sensation as you chew is pretty darn good. The avocado bit was nice but I think salmon goes better with the sesame dressing. Together, the sesame dressing and avocado proved too creamy for it to get 10/10. I'm giving it 9/10

Candylicious is exactly where the old TIME bookstore used to be in KLCC. KN brought me here and oh boy did we have a field day taking pictures. It was only after I spied a tactful message saying " photography not allowed our candies are shy" that I stopped. And so here are some of my pictures ...

Jelly bean anyone? I'll have a mugfull thanks

For a short while I was into jelly beans. Had a handful in the car but after having to hunt for lost jelly beans in the car I've decided its safer to eat them in a non-moving vehicle. Love the vanilla bean flavour. And I hate the lime...it seriously taste like washing out liquid. And I'm not making this up, I have seriously tasted ( not on purpose) some washing up liquid in the past.

Reese bowls.....and reese everything else

For them "reese's" fans out there....come on over and get your stash at Candylicious. And now, just a little about Candylicious and what all the hype is about. ( found from various sources on the net.) It's a concept of candy fantasy shop serving loads of different types and they display it in such a tantalising way you feel you simply have to have that whorly lolly or you'ld just die!!!! From the crowds inside, I'm guessing this shop will do very well. Malaysians love their candy! Its flagship store opened in September 2009. There have three stores in Singapore, Resorts World, Sentosa, Takashimaya and Parkway Parade. The one in Sentosa is 9 thousand square feet in size!!!!

Scallops anyone?

We had lunch at the top floor of pavilion just beside some restaurant called grandma-something I forget now. I've also forgotten the name of the restaurant we ate in but I'm 80% sure it's called Market hall.

Aglio Olio with white wine

The food like the name of the restaurant is forgettable. I'm judging unfairly as just the day before we had the most gorgeous tasty olio ever. With that, this had a slim chance of pleasing us. The portion was adequate. Service was good and they went through the motions of actually saying the correct script.

Coffee in a glass cup and saucer

We had coffee there mainly because we wee too lazy to walk out and look for decent coffee. I have no complains re coffee. Nice and aromatic.

Something interesting from "Soap and glory"

You cannot stay away for long. And so there we were, making our way to Sephora ( in the rain...yes it started to drizzle and no we had no umbrella with us). Like the last two visits, the atmosphere was charged with women with an intent to try and buy. You can tell the good deals from the empty pots left or the 1/8 full bottle of hand cream. Some testers were missing. Those MUST be the ones to get. I bought a whole mini basket full of soap and glory stuff plus some other delectables from other unheard of brands. And I finally found the version of versace perfume I liked from the last visit. Perfume purchase saved for 2012. Today was strictly frivolous shopping.

Black tea mask for the brave

I found this in the shelf after my third round. Cost quite a bit. I wonder if I were to use wet grounded tea would the effect be "perfect" too.

Something like ShueUmura's oil cleanser

I don't use mascara so this wasn't on the much buy list. But looking at the tester bottle you can gauge for yourself whether it'll be worth buying!

And here;s the main reason why my blog entry is Sephora based....THERE's a SECOND branch in KLCC. Fancy that!!!!!! But we still prefer the orginal Sephora because of the great crowds of women of various ages and sizes all like-minded. Bonding session at sephora can only be experienced at Sephora opposite Pavillion.

Oh dear...I appear to find the Mazda wanting in something at least!

Lovely to have a carshow near home. Matrade is 10 minutes from home. And the big rain earlier in the afternoon made us go there later. So less crowd and more breathing space. Unlike the VW carshow ( see earlier blog post ) with long queues and LOCKED cars...this was lovely. No fuss....and you could sit , sneer, pose inside pose outside the cars...and get your moneys worth. RM5 per entry. Tolerable!

We walked a lot on Saturday. Looking for a hall at PWTC. Due to the furniture expo the normal ( shorter) route was off limits. We walked through beds, floors, mattresses, taps, blinds...and people to cross the river to get to the hall. Tiring. No picture of self. I decided against inflicting a sweaty red-faced flat hair-do on you all. ( considerate..that's what I am)

Picture turned out nicer than expected....lighting was to my "benefit"

Sephora! Music to the ears. Our second visit uncovered more treasures. The walk there was brisk I'm afraid we jay-walked ( hey hey along with the rest of the crowd) across Jalan Bukit Bintang. And because Malaysians love heading out to the shops at any opportunity, we had to wade through a little bit of crowd. And so here are two of the many pictures I took. I've chosen these for different reasons. Benefit has lovely packaging. It really does. Their lippy is great but I'm afraid I've shyed away from most of their other tempting products.

Wooo! Look what I found. Industrial strength concealer. WHOA! I betcha these can smoothen out just any old crater out there. Try it? Nah! Finally got around to having a hair trim. The sides were curling ( not in an endearing manner) out and I'm not sure whether any of you have this experience but hair growing out tends to follow its own rhythm leaving you with many many bad-hair-days.

An unfortunate thing to happen

Scalded left hand two weeks back during removal of instant noodles from microwave oven. A slight jerking movement caused a mini tsunami of piping hot noodles to overflow from bowl to hand. The heat caused a yelp and a further tilt...which brought piping hot gravy onto hand to add to the unpleasantness. The hand is absolutely fine after a immediate rush to the tap to bring down the temp pronto followed by an icebag for the next hour or so. It hurt like a billy-oh that evening. But THERE is no scar:)

The noodles above was cooked by AJ....and brought to room with one hand. Some people (roll eyes) they're brilliant with hot piping noodles.

I was as sick as can be early this week...the peak of sickliness coincided with Deepavali. Nearly succumbed to the temptation of antbiotics.....But I'm glad to report that I am 96% recovered. An occasionally hacking cough remains but I'm optimistic that will leave midweek. Happy Sunday everybody!

I wonder whether this was a wise move. Got the car washed just now. It's been pouring most evenings after 4pm. Friday's drive home was challenging. At one point there were no cars in front of me to aid the drive and I found myself driving blindly ahead with my hands clutching onto the steering wheel tightly. Didn't realise how tight until I reached my destination and found aching shoulders and tired fingers.

Yesterday's dinner was so disappointing I nearly howled mid-meal. Our sushi arrived looking very tasty and yummy. The first bite was weird. It tasted very warm. As I chewed the consistency was doughy and no rice bits fell off. As seen in the picture above, the entire sushi was gel-led by heat by the time it got to our table. Eating my second ( and last sushi) made me think of chewing into Kuih Sri Muka. Twenty two thumbs down. Shame on the restaurant for not even bothering to make a decent sushi never mind that they fobbed us off the tempura bit inside the sushi. I'm NEVER going back to this place. I wonder whether the original Japanese Chef went back to Japan after the earthquake.

I won't tell you where this restaurant is but I will say this....if this were to happen to you, please send the sushi back. ( We didn't....we were too polite)

I'm almost certain everybody gets their turn at receiving this APC( anugerah perkhidmatan cemerlang). Seeing as there's no way they're going to give this award to the wrong person the SECOND time around, RP and I decided to go for this. It poured and the road was filled with cars most of them not in their own lanes and messing about other people's lanes. Most annoying. I arrived 15 minutes late. Thankfully the guests of honour arrived 30 minutes late. Loads of empty seats. I suspect the great downpour was the cause of the no-show. Didn't see anyone else remotely familiar. And the annoying camera panned in my direction periodically which meant I had to behave and look interested in the speeches when I was dead hungry.

Fried mushrooms

These taste better than they look. Honest!!!!The mushrooms were fresh and chewy. They must have done it right because it didn't taste like it was soaked in oil.( Bleah you know that dreadful taste) The honey mustard dip was nice too. so yes my review would be a 4/5. It's too big to have on your own. You need to share these with friends.

Sunday afternoon at TAR college

Lovely open grounds with nice mature trees lining the drive into the college grounds. TAR college certainly has a very welcoming feel to the place. My first visit ....this morning for the Choral Music exchange programme.( Hope I got the name right) Because it was a Sunday, parking was not a problem. And the guard at the front big gate seemed a sensible chap with no fuss about him.

Check out the colourful musical notes pasted on the wall in the dewan kuliah. Very nice, very nice indeed. There was some very nice voices heard. Which would out the American Idol wannabees on telly to shame/ A musical morning....

Finally, I can cross one item from my ever-increasing to-do-list. Renewed the expired passport on Wednesday. Hands up who doesn't know that the new passport officer is now in Kompleks Kementerian Dalam Negeri, Jalan Hartamas 1. No more having to wake up super early and driving to Pusat Bandar Damasara and parking at their dark and scary carpark. The new building is a stone's throw away from where I live. Okay I lied. It's 10 minutes away taking into consideration one of the traffic lights take forever to change to green. The new place is empty. Parking is still free. What more could you ask for? Hmmm Macdonalds nearby maybe. Didn't see any canteen when I was there.

We had this after the shopping spree on Monday. The whole experience of spending money after a long hard days work on a Monday is strongly recommended for those who seriously need their spirits lifted. Mine wasn't down at all, but it certainly lifted to some height after I bought yet another bag...oh and shoes

The doll

Eating that reminded me of the strawberry shortcake doll series. I don't see them around now. Not that I would be caught wondering about the toy section mind. A friend came back from Singapore with a strawberry shortcake bag. Peer pressure yes even in lower primary school was pretty strong. I too HAD simply had to have something strawberry shortcake too. I had a doll and two bags finally. Loved them all to death and paraded them about most days in school, at home...just about everywhere.

The tart!

Here is my version of a strawberry shortcake doll. Used to spend loads of time with her. She was great friends with my collection of smurfs and snoopies and used to play mama to my many other hair-less dolls. ( I used to brush their hair to death....she escaped) This was UNTIL I round out she was actually *deep breath* a rasberry TART!!!!!!

Ginger ale....not the right drink for soothing an upset fiery tummy

We had dinner at our old haunt. Haven't been there in a while. The last time I was here I didn't have my ipad yet. Which would make that at least 9 months ago. The place looked the same.

SPicy ( and I DO mean spicy) seafood spaghetti

I chose the seafood spaghetti ( today being friday). Ignored that small chillie sign printed beside the name in the menu and promptly sat back....and waited for my dinner.

Kuey teow ladna ( not its real name)

This was the other dish we ordered. Nice and gooey. Just look at the sauce. Yummy. I am here to report that those little chillie pictures you see tagged to the menu should NEVER be ignored. My dinner was fiery. The ginger ale was finished in no time at all. As for the main meal, I gave up 1/4 of the way through and decided to blow my lips and suck on an ice cube. Things got better...and I recovered to some extent after coffee. Now....the spicy spaghetti is causing some acidic churning. Most unpleasant. I'm not having this dish again EVAH!

Big bad wolf!

The Big Bad Wolf sale is here:) Whoppeeeee. We arrived in the blazing ( and I REALLY meant sizzling hot) late-afternoon sun.....and after parking took a long uphill walk to the hall. The great open space had a nice feeling. There was enough parking spots and then some. That felt nice. The hall itself was air-conditioned and they played soothing music designed to make you relax and spend more money. Not that we needed any help. I should like to credit PAPAGO for bringing us to Serdang without any hitch. That's my best investment in a while.

I used to love Jeeves and would listen to the audio version repeatedly until I almost memorized the entire THANK YOU jeeves. Nice to find some Wodehouse books among the chic lit. ( A pity I already have these two books)

And thankfully most folks didn't mess with the book arrangement much. Made browsing easy and fuss-free. A sale worth going to. I enjoyed myself. We bought so much....had to have the books carted outside. I drove the car from the carpark right to the doorstep to get the books. Lugging them down myself would have been impossible. ( 6 bags...in total...didn't we do well!!!)

My third time here. And my first in broad daylight for lunch. Weather was hot but we got seats inside. They did the place up a bit, poshed it up with nicer chairs and smaller potion of the lovely sauce I like. That's progress for you. We were early and midway through the meal they were people standing outside waiting to be seated. I'm telling you, this place serves lovely lovely food. Well worth heading all the way from KL to Putra Jaya

Nike free run+2

These are my gorgeous black nike shoes:) So who cares if the rumour is true....the soles fall out after a year. ( NIKE I hope you're reading this). No more air for me. I'll settle for something simpler. Did a short spurt of exercising yesterday evening and I have aching thighs as a reminder of just how UNFIT I really am. No more exercise until the end of the week. Wouldn't want to fall ill. Pace myself...pace myself...

We were home for the weekend to attend a wedding. After which time, it drizzled. Here is a picture of the parents. The one rushing to the car to avoid the hair getting wet...and the slightly slower other half with obvious drops of rain on the camera bag. It POURED and thundered the minute we arrived home. Hooked on this for the moment. Infusing carbon dioxide into water gives it a rather odd taste and gulping this down takes a bit of effort. You'll hate it at first but it'll grow on you after a bit. I wonder tho...those one pass more gas ...*ponder*

After which, it went downhill steadily and ending with the "GAP" between winner (meh) and loser. Boohoohoohoohoo. It would appear that I give in too easily sometimes. How else can I explain the fact away....that I spent Sunday afternoon at ( hold your breath and wait for it ) Petaling Street. That's right. The DAD watched a program on tv on the best hokkien mee evah! Situated in front of some building. 3 generations of cooks. And the opening hours was impressive. That program must have had some sublimimal pull because despite not actually remembering the name of the shop, nor the exact location....the DAD persevered and the we eventually sat down at a restaurant which sold hokkien mee. The hokkien mee was mediocre. So it would appear, the DAD has succeeded in leading us to places with crowds in a futile attempt to get the goods. ( read car show trip please and then sympathize with me)

Now that I've gotten that off my chest, let me get on with the ROWS of fake longchamp bags I saw. Some of them had some neat stitching but the giveaway is the feel of the canvas. Fake canvas feels smoother, looks shinier and folds in a rather undefined manner.

Those interested to know...the fake ones cost RM 30....and as we walked away, the price came down to RM 25:) I didn't stay on the bargain. My original la pliage and I moved decidedly towards the direction of the carpark and home.

Uploaded the new update which was released in November. I've yet to find Marco smurf and the night scene makes it difficult to locate my butterflies to beep their XP. Harvesting takes just that bit longer too. Of course you can over rule this day/night theme but I won't.Is it just me or do you find the start up slower?

Did you know that Georgette Heyer also wrote whodunnits and not just soppy romantic novels? And look at the price of these books. Just RM20....very cheap. I found these yesterday evening at Plaza Damas. The sad thing is, I have them all already...and I didn't buy it for RM20. Booo

This is another series which is not readily available. Last seen at Kinokuniya and it was priced at RM35.80. Here it is at ( guess guess ) RM20.

While we're on the theme of bags this morning, Allow me to share with you what you may want to buy to look hip and young. I can't say I'm immediately attracted to these but when seen on a certain almost-royal-lady you must agree it looks rather nice. So nice she has it in a few colours. Here are the pictures to prove it. ( The bag comes in black crocodile,oak crocodile, black leatherm brown leather, tan leather, shark and red leather)

How let's just see what so special about this bag.
1. Handles look solid. I suspect the shoulder strap isn't. Just a hunch
2.It can fit the ipad/laptop and others. After all, its a portfolio bag its meant to.
3. It looks super cool

This is not a Longchamp La pliage ( obviously) neither is it a Modalu ( Seen enough times on Pippa middleton to be renamed after her...such is the price of fame). It is a shopping bag by Harrods. Let's have a show of hands ( don't be bashful) those of us who own such a bag!! I must confess to almost owning one. Possible ones to tempt me would be:

1.Knightsbridge Map Shopper ( Medium tote) and the a matching mug please

2. And I would also add this to the possible must-haves from the tote-bag range. I had a bag like this ( similar only in material, given to me by my granny many years ago which I used diligently day in and day out. It came with a pencil case and some pencils.

A delicate cream colour and neat lines. Perfect for violin class
